SEARCH ENGINE SUBMISSION

Search engine submissions or registration is the process of getting your web site listed with search engines. Getting listed on a search engine does not necessarily translate into high rankings for particular terms.  Submission only notifies that the search engines that your web site exists.

Free search engine submission is still available, but using a paid submission service will speed up the registration process and certainly generate more search engine related traffic for your web site.  This is especially important if you want to increase traffic to your site as a means of increasing sales. 

Directories are targeted ‘mini’ engines that are created and edited by a site administrator.  Directories can be a very important strategy to target a smaller, yet more appropriate, set of searchers. Getting listed with the web's key directories is a major benefit as these listings are seen by many people. When you list with a directory, then crawler-based search engines are more likely to find your site and add it to their listings for free.

The submission should have 2 key components of your website:  Title and Description.  Your title should be concise and your description should be no fewer than 10 and no more than 25 words to summarize your entire web site. That description should make use of two or three keywords or search terms that you think will drive visitors to your site.
